Radio ORLA enjoyed special recognition from one of its long-time
listeners this week, when your favourite radio station publicly
received a gift on the occasion of its recent third birthday.
Polish-born poet and painter Beata Korabiowska presented Radio ORLA
with a painting depicting our beloved Polish "godlo" eagle over an
island panorama, at a special evening organised by young Poles' group
Poland Street at Jazz Cafe POSK in London on Wednesday.
The evening included music, poetry and the chance to acquire one of
Beata's paintings. Beata as you may recall has previously featured in
an edition of Radio ORLA show London Bridge.
Stepping on stage to receive the painting, called "Freedom of the
Airwaves", on behalf of the broadcaster was its director George Matlock.
George said the gift was very special and accepted it on behalf "of
the entire team who work so hard to bring you Anglo-Polish Radio ORLA
fm daily."
George later said it was "very touching that a very talented
listener was inspired to depict the radio station in such an artistic
way. It shows that Radio ORLA's motto of 'Radio with class' attracts
listeners with class too."
