Andrzej Przybielski ma już swoje zasłużone miejsce w historii polskiego jazzu. Od 40 lat gra na trąbce, komponuje i nagrywa najwyższej klasy jazz. W swej długoletniej karierze  współpracował z największymi sławami polskiej sceny muzycznej jak Wanda Warska, Andrzej Kurylewicz, Tomasz Stańko , Czesław Niemen, Stanisław Sojka, Jerzy Skrzek i inni.
Występował na wszystkich ważniejszych festiwalach krajowych i zagranicznych zawsze zdobywając główne nagrody. Tworzy muzykę do spektakli teatralnych i do filmów. W swoim dorobku ma ponad 50 płyt.

Bracia Marcin i Bartłomiej Oleś zaliczani są do najbardziej kreatywnych europejskich artystów jazzowych dzisiejszych czasów.  Mają na swoim koncie imponujący dorobek płytowy. Ich nagrania zdobywają tytuły płyt roku albo najwyższe rekomendacje  w polskich i zagranicznych magazynach jazzowych. Współpracują z takimi artystami jak David Murray, Theo Jorgensmann, Ken Vandermark, Erik Friedlander, Simon Nabatov, Chris Speed, Kenny Werner, Herb Robertson, Frank Gratkowski, Jean-Luc Cappozzo, Rudi Mahall i inni. Z prawdziwą przyjemnością przedstawiamy jednego z najbardziej interesujących brytyjskich gitarzystów jazzowych młodego pokolenia, który znakomicie się czuje we wszystkich stylach i klimatach jazzowych. Z urodzenia Londyńczyk, ale wychowany na Karaibach, przeszedł od fascynacji muzyką reagge do wyrafinowanego jazzu, któremu pozostał wierny do dziś. Jego płyta „Pad Up get ready” wydana w studio znakomitego saksofonisty Courtney Pine została bardzo wysoko oceniona przez krytykę jazzową. Fragmenty tej płyty jak i wiele znakomitych improwizacji usłyszymy na koncercie w Jazz Cafe POSK.

Sobota 15.08 g.20.30 £5 – Kearsey-Lawson Trio

Wyjątkowa okazja do posłuchania wirtuoza wibrafonu Roana Kearseya-Lawsona w programie znanych standartów jazzowych. Na scenie Cafe POSK po raz pierwszy zabrzmi ten oryginalny instrument prowadzony mistrzowską reką Roana, który współpracował z największymi gwiazdami brytyjskiego jazzu jak John Etheridge, Jean Toussaint, Duncan Lamont i inni. Trio Roana niestrudzenie koncertuje na żywo w klubach jazzowych, bierze udział w większych festiwalach jazzowych w Anglii i za granicą, nagrywa dla Radia BBC i aktualnie pracuje nad dwiema płytami . Warto dodać, że Roan jest członkiem kilku orkiestr symfonicznych, pisze muzykę dla teatrów, publikuje własne książki o tematyce muzycznej jak również jest dyrektorem KLMusic Group, wytwórni płytowej, która prowadzi swój klub jazzowy, organizuje koncerty oraz posiada własną szkołę muzyczną, nie mówiąc już o tym, że znalazł czas by zdobyć trzy doktoraty. Sobota 22.08 g.20.30 £5 – Peter Miles Quartet

Znany londyński wokalista jazzowy Peter Miles w programie amerykańskich standartów od Sinatry do Armstronga. Piosenkarzowi towarzyszą Rodney Mendoza na fortepianie,Chris Rodel na kontrabasie  i Derek Dale na perkusji. Gościnnie wystąpi saksofonista Len McCellin.

Piątek 28.08  g.20.30 £5 - Willie Garnett Big Band

Niewątpliwie jeden z najlepszych londyńskich big bandów, kierowany przez weterana jazzowego, saksofonistę Willi Garneta, którego kariera muzyczna trwa już ponad 50 lat. W Jazz Cafe POSK występuje w każdy ostatni piątek miesiąca, prezentując brawurowo wykonany program znanych standartów jazzowych. W orkiestrze grają trzy pokolenia muzyków a solistką zespołu jest Lesley Christiane, której interpretacje znanych wokalnych standartów w niczym nie ustępują wielkim damom światowego jazzu.

Sobota 29.08 g.20.30 £5 – Symbiosis Big Band

Regularnie pojawiający się na scenie Jazz Cafe POSK big band Symbiosis to jeden z najbardziej interesujących młodych zespołów jazzowych ostatnich lat. Prowadzony przez basistę i kompozytora Jurija Gałkina, 9 osobowy zespół wykonuje głównie utwory swego lidera, który w 2007 roku zdobył pierwszą nagrodę w konkursie dla młodych kompozytorów jazzowych. Warto podkreślić interesujące aranżacje utworów Jurija, który czerpie inspiracje z różnych kultur muzycznych: jazzu, muzyki klasycznej i Ameryki Łacińskiej.

Saturday 1. 08 8.30pm £5 – Stars of Polish Jazz with Andrzej  Przybielski and Oles Brothers

Andrzej Przybielski has reserved his place in the history of Polish jazz music with a career that spans over 40 years . Starting out in the mid '60s playing the cornet in a traditional jazz band , he became fascinated with jazz avant-garde. During those years his carrier developed as he become involved with all the leading  Polish  jazz performers of the era, to name a few: Wanda Warska, Andrzej Kurylewicz, Tomasz Stańko , Czesław Niemen, Stanisław Sojka and Jerzy Skrzek.  His talent was quickly recognised by jazz critics at many Polish and international festivals, where Przybielski  won top prizes for his amazing playing technique as well as his compositions. In the '90s he began collaborating with European jazz musicians in his group: “Andrzej Przybielski Association”.

At present he works with some leading Polish theatrical groups, presenting his works at  international festivals and releasing recordings made with various jazz artists. Andrzej is a hero of many often amusing stories  but most of all he is a trumpet player who has performed with so many musicians that one would find it very difficult to list them. Each stage of his creative life is accompanied by a series of recordings (he has taken part in the recording of more than 50 albums).

Marcin i Bartłomiej Brat Oleś - double bass and drums – These guys are some of most creative artists, composers and important voices of the young generation in European jazz. They have cooperated with David Murray, Theo Jorgensmann, Ken Vandermark, Erik Friedlander, Simon Nabatov, Chris Speed, Kenny Werner, Herb Robertson, Frank Gratkowski, Jean-Luc Cappozzo, Rudi Mahall and more. Many of their albums were voted the best albums of the year or received  the highest recommendations in jazz magazines.

They have played jazz festivals such as Montreux Jazz Fest., Jazz DOR Strasbourg, Jazzy Colors Paris, Jazz en Nord Lille, New Sound Kiev, Europa Jazz Fest Graz, Modern Jazz Fest Rudersdorf, Lüneburger Jazznights, Jazz Meets World [Prague], Pepsi Siget Festival [Budapest], Jeunesses Musicales [Bucuresti], Jazz no Borders [Lviv], Albaimpro [Hungary], Era Jazzu Festival Cracow/Warsaw and played concerts in France, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Swiss, Ukraine, Poland, Czech, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Finland, Belgium, UK.

Saturday 8.08 8.30pm – Cameron  Pierre Trio

Born in London, Cameron was raised on the Caribbean island of Dominica. Like most of his peers, Cameron's early musical influences were big masters from that era of popular Jamaican music. At sixteen he taught himself to play the guitar, and it was within the reggae genre that he first established himself, working slowly towards jazz, and his taste and talent brought him to London where he became a regular on the calypso, reggae, and jazz circuit. Touring the world playing with Courtney Pine’s award winning band Cameron’s guitar style has dazzled many. Recording his first album under Courtney Pine’s Destin-E Record label” Pad UP (get ready)” earned him the following praise from the man who has worked with just about everybody on the world jazz scene:“ Cameron Pierre is one of the finest musicians that I have met , he has that elusive quality of being able to play the past, present and future styles of jazz – without a doubt he is one of the finest jazz Guitarist to be produced by Great Britain”.

Saturday 15.08 8.30pm £5 – Kearsey-Lawson Trio

www.myspace.com/roankearseylawson                                                                                  Roan Kearsey-Lawson is not only considered by some as one of the finest vibes players in the UK but he is also a well seasoned Kit player having backed a huge list of jazz greats at various venues in the South East and as a house musician at the 144Club in Rochester and Maidstone, Kent. To name only a few he played with John Etheridge, Jean Toussaint, Tony Kofi, Alan Barnes, Duncan Lamont and others. In 2007 Roan released a debut album and is currently working on 2 compilations with several artists. In addition to gigging as a jazz musician, Roan plays as a percussionist in classical orchestras, performs for theatre companies, has recently published his own books and with 3 degrees after his name is the managing director of KLMusic Group, which includes a record label, publishing label, jazz clubs, gig promotions and private instrumental tuition.

Saturday 22.08 8.30pm £5 – Peter Miles Quartet

Peter Miles - singer, returns to the Jazz Cafe with his excellent quartet, to perform his superb choices from the Great American Songbook, interlaced with beautiful bossa novas by Antonio Carlos Jobim. With Rodney Mendoza on piano, Chris Rodel on double bass and Derek Gale on drums, featuring a guest tenor saxophonist Len McCellin.

Friday 28.08 8.30pm £5 – Willie Garnett Big Band

A treat for big orchestra lovers!  Willie Garnet Big Band now have a residency at our Jazz Cafe playing every last Friday of the month. Undoubtedly one of the best British big bands, led by veteran saxophonist Willie, featuring top London players including Alex Garnett, Mike Costers, Chris Lowe, John McNichol etc. They will be playing arrangements by Sammy Nestico, Don Menza, Kenny Woodman, Frank Toms, Oliver Nelson, Kelvin Christiane, Benny Goodman plus many more. Also features the dulcet voices tones of vocalist Lesley Christiane.

Saturday 28.08, 8.30pm £5 - Symbiosis Big Band

Regulars to our stage The Symbiosis Big Band, led by the brilliant bass player Yuriy Galkin, are progressing into one of the most interesting young bands on today's jazz scene. A 9-piece ensemble, they perform Yuriy's original compositions and arrangements. Yuriy has developed a unique, open minded musical language in his compositions, inspired by many cultures and traditions including jazz, classical and Latin music. His bass playing reflects all the aspects of contemporary improvised music, featuring him as one of the most powerful and creative jazz musician of his generation.
